It’s been a while…

It has been over a year since I last blogged. So much in my life has changed. I am currently waiting for my divorce to be final.

After 17 years in an abusive relationship I am finally free! I don’t regret the decision I made to remove myself and my children from an abusive evironment. It was very difficult emotionally, but has turned out to be the best thing I have ever done for myself and for my children.

The kids are thriving! My oldest two boys are currently a sophmore and junior in highschool. They finished up football season in December and they are currently on the wrestling team together. They are both in honor classes and making all A’s! It’s a busy life, but they enjoy it!

My youngets two are 4 (preK) and 7 (2nd grade) now. I recently pulled them out of public school and started our journey homeschooling! This has been my dream for several years now. I withdrew them the last day before Christmas break and our first offical day of homeschool was January 5, 2010…the day back to school after the holidaysl. We are going to follow the same schedule as the boys follow in public school. We are loving every minute of it! I think a few relatives are questioning my decision (and my sanity lol!), but that is understandable. I think it’s hard for older adults to understand homeschooling this day and age. I’m sure they will adjust to my decision.

I hope to pick up blogging again. I enjoy the outlet! See you soon!

I’m so happy to be blogging again and wish I had more time to do so. Blogging is a great outlet for me.

Now a little update on my life….

The most exciting this is that I got a new sewing machine! Whoo Hoo!!! I can’t describe how good it feels to be sewing again. I consider sewing my much needed thearpy ; )

Youngest DS is now ofically potty trained. We were having a problem with doing the poo thing in the toilet but he now gets it. This is a huge milestone for both of us. I finally have all of my children out of diapers! I was getting a little worried considering DS will start pre-K 8 months. That’s another milestone but I will whine about that when we get there.

Football season has come and gone and both boys were on varsity and they both made the paper a couple of times. I will share those pictures when I get around to it. I’m feeling a bit lazy this morning. We have moved on to wrestling season so it is never a dull moment around here. There’s alot of wrestling matches going on in the back yard lol!

DD did little league cheerleading this year and love it! I must say she make an adorable little cheerleader : ) I was calculating the other night and between DD and youngest DS we will have 14 more years of football left. : O I hope in a few years I am still able to climb the bleachers lol!

I need to get the kids up for school and so I need to hurry this along this morning. I hope all of you have a wonderful day. I will be spending all day continuing to sew on a few Christmas gifts I have left to make. I will share pictures after Christmas. I know my sister might read my blog and I don’t want her to see ; )

DD is sitting on the couch working on her stitching while I’m at the sewing machine piecing together a quilt. I am so proud of how quickly she is learning to stitch…..and she loves it! Some how I knew she would

Today I get the best mom of the year award! I bought a bucket of sidewalk chalk and let DD and DS write on the wall lol! It wipes right off and it sure does give them something entertaining to do while I cook dinner DD was teaching DS his letters and numbers

I found the chalk today at an unbelievable price while we were shopping in Hobby Lobby. We found some really great deal’s in there clearance today. I got all of this plus the chalk for under $10. I found a really cute preprinted cross stitch project to teach DD to stitch. She is ultra excited!!!

And while we were out I ran to the thrift store right next door to Hobby Lobby and picked up this book. The Language Of Letting Go by Melody Beattie. It looks interesting enough

A new way to eat cereal :)

I fixed dd and ds3 a small bowl of cereal for a snack before bed. I sat down to check my emails and looked around to check on the kids. I guess wearing a bowl on the head is a new thing lol!

Another eventful day in our household….

What started off as a cold but sunny day has turned into a mild anxiety attack on my part. DS2 had basketball practice….when I went to pick him up from practice he could barely hobble to van. I had him take off his shoe to a swollen and purple ankle. So needless to say we had to make a little trip to the E.R.

The doctor on duty looked at the xrays and said he didn’t see a break but was going to have the radiologist look over the xrays and they would call us if there was any more problems.

It looks as though he has torn a ligament and will not be able to use his foot for 21 days.

No more basketball and they only had 2 more games left and playoffs. His team is undefeated so this is a big blow to my boy
